Imagine That-Ernie

Most bad-ass song about imagination and being a free spirit and following your bliss.  Sesame Street should be studied like philosophy.

Local Natives-Cecilia (Simon and Garfunkel Cover)

Silverlake natives to boot!  LA music is doing well!

There are some moments in music that just stick in your brain.  I remember, freshman year of college, out of sheer boredom I turned on my roommate’s TV to check out Conan.  This unknown Kentucky outfit with 80’s era Metallica haircuts and flying v guitars called My Morning Jacket started playing.

I stood up from my bed by the end, unable to remain seated during a performance so ripe with passion (particularly for TV).  Even Conan, as I recall, rushed the stage after the last chord and shouted “I am buying this record TOMORROW!”

Love this band.

From the album Solid Air.  Rest in Peace.  Died earlier this year.  A singular talent, voice, and guitar player.

Chad VanGaalen-Clinically Dead

New discovery of not-so-new artist.  Hooray for Canadians that like to draw (this guy!).

Neko Case

Do I or do I not buy tickets to see Neko Case for my girlfriend’s birthday at the Greek Theater w/Jason Lytle of Granddaddy opening?  Is it worth Ticketmaster charging me 30 in surcharges? Am I a cheapskate?
